Abolitionist Parenting

Welcome to Abolitionist Parenting, a space where we learn how to raise social justice advocates. This is a resource group for parents who:

*are concerned about the way the things are unfolding in the world

*are against genocide, capitalism, and hatred, and want to mourn in community

*want to dream about a different world for our children

*hope the folx in your village will continue to learn more around issues of identity

*want your child to be an upstander in situations around race, LGBTQIA+, disabilities, and other identities

*want strategies to work better with teachers and schools around race and equity

We are reconfiguring the way we connect. We do not want more ZOOM!!!!

We started out meeting on Zoom. It was beautiful. Children were welcome, parents connected, and strategized, and we learned together.

But, we do not want to add more Zooms to our lives. We are hoping to get funding to offer in person connections, conferences, and childcare.

In the meantime, we will send out toolkits to keep us learning and will schedule times for connections, but keep the Zooms at a minimum.

Is this space for me?

This is a cross racial space and is for parents of all backgrounds. We focused on parents with children up to college age.
